Hi! My name is Natasha Chernavska. I live insunny Florida and more than anything in the world, I love the ocean—the cradle of life. I love it so much that I want to share a piece of that love with you through my beach-inspired creations: easy, breezy kimonos for all occasions.
Here’s my story.
Fashion design has always been my greatest passion. Ever since I was six or seven, I’ve been creating wardrobes for a crowd of paper dolls that I cut out from magazines or drew myself. I would design outfits for them based on their age, personality, and vibe. I’d study clothes on the streets, in movies, and on TV. I remember having so much fun with it—until I became a teenager.
I also had a few real dolls, and I used to sew clothing for them too. My mom, a wonderful seamstress, taught me the basics. Later, I continued learning in middle school during labor training classes. I loved sewing and made clothes for myself and my friends.
Now, it’s still a true passion of mine. I love making clothes—and I pour my love for the ocean into every piece I create.
Almost all Kimonology® fabrics are sourced from Los Angeles fashion design houses. Every item in this store is handmade by me. I do it all: fabric shopping, sewing, photographing the clothing—you name it. I designed all Kimonology items, and I’m also the web designer and programmer for this site. And I still have so many ideas I haven’t brought to life yet.
I’m incredibly grateful for the friends who help me make this dream real: Kat Johnston, Tatyana O’Toole, and Guzel Delmont—who have all modeled the items. Tatyana also helped me a lot with photography.
When you buy something from Kimonology, you’re not buying from a big company. You’re buying from one person—me—who puts a lot of love into everything she does. Your support helps me keep going and keep creating. It brings me joy, and I hope my pieces bring joy and beauty into your life too.
