Hi! My name is Natasha Chernavska, I live in sunny Florida and more than anything in the world I love the Ocean, the cradle of life. I love it so much that I would love to send a piece of my love with one of my beach inspired creations – easy breezy kimonos for all occasions.
Here’s my story.
Fashion design was always my biggest passion! Ever since I was 6 or 7, I have been creating wardrobes for a crowd of paper dolls that I carved out from magazines or drew myself. I made cool outfits for them considering their age, type and character. I was looking around and studying outfits I saw everywhere – on the streets, on TV and in movies. I remember having lots of fun doing it till I was about a teenager.
I also had a few real dolls. I used to sew clothing for them. My mom helped me. She was a wonderful seamstress and showed me the basics. I continued learning in labor training class in middle school. I loved to sew and make clothing for myself and my friends.
Now, this is a true passion of mine. I love making clothes, and love to put my love to the ocean into the pieces I make.
Almost all Kimonology® fabrics come from Los Angeles fashion design houses. All of the items in this store are handmade. I am doing everything including fabric shopping, sewing, and shooting the clothing. I designed all Kimonology items. I am also a web designer and programmer for this site. And I still have lots of ideas that I have not yet implemented.
I am really happy that I have friends who help me to make this happen: Kat Johnston, Tatyana O’Toole, Guzel Delmont. They participated in modeling of the items. Tatyana also helped me a lot with photography.
When you are buying items in this store, you don’t buy from a company, you buy from a single person who puts lots of love into what she’s doing. You help me survive and keep creating more wonderful pieces to make people happy. And you keep me happy! All I want is that my creations could bring joy and happiness into your life!
